Shellie Shipowick - principal / K - 1
You know, we have a wonderful group of kids! We do a lot of fun things together in a school year, and one of the things we like to do is sing.
One of the many songs we sing is “Family”. The words are:
Family, we are family,
Jesus, He is our God.
And I’m so glad He brought us all together,
I’m so glad that the Father is our God.
We will spend almost 200 days together, and that means we are together for over 1,200 hours in a school year. We become a special family. Each year, we add ‘new’ family members. We learn things about each other, the good and the not so good. We learn about the likes and dislikes of our ‘family’. We even know some of the struggles and triumphs that our ‘family’ members have. Just like in any family, we have our conflicts, too. And even though we all come from different backgrounds, we choose to stick together like a family.
Our motto at school is “School is to be a safe and happy place for everyone”. I am delighted many times in a day to see how thoughtful and caring my ‘family’ is. I see young Christian citizens that I believe will make a positive impact in our world.
As a staff, we want to encourage each one of our ‘family’ members to walk with Jesus every day and show the world the difference He makes in our lives.
